Y6 Computing Day

Robots took over Year 6 on Friday 19th September 2014! Our budding computing superstars were busy in action all day programming robots with our community volunteers from Deloitte.  Everybody particularly enjoyed meeting and programming Deloitte's resident robot - Minbot! Some of the Deloitte volunteers even joined us for a game of basketball at lunchtime!  A great day was had by all and here are just a few of the comments that our budding Year 6 programmers had to make:

"I enjoyed learning how to control the Minbot and how to program the Lego Robot"

"I liked that the Robot challenge had a tricky maze and we had to work out the mistakes in the programme and fix them"

" I enjoyed the day because I've learnt new skills and how to write programs like an expert"

"I enjoyed working in a team to write programs for the robot"

"I liked meeting Minbot and trying to figure out the Robo challenge maze"

"I enjoyed the day because I thought that it was interesting and I learnt new things about programming. I also enjoyed working with the Deloitte team, they were fun"

"I enjoyed how we made lots of mistakes and had to figure them out"

We look forward to seeing how the Year 6 children develop their coding, programming and computing skills in general over the coming year!
