Maths Mentors
After a successful day in Early Years and Key Stage 1 on Monday, the Maths Mentors put on their thinking caps once again and supported Key Stage 2 with their Discovery Maths this morning. They helped children get to grips with the Maths behind World War Two rationing, Tudor mazes, Anderson shelter investigations, Victorian pounds, shillings, pence and much more. Year 5 were still busy investigating Victorian money this afternoon! It has been great to see how much Maths we can discover through our History and Discovery topics.
A huge well done also to the Maths Mentors who have excelled themselves this week. Here are just some of their feedback and comments on their first mentoring experience:
"It was great that the teachers had trust in us" (Joanna, Y6PA)
"It was good to see children learning so much Maths by looking at dinosaurs! (Nathaniel, Y6RH)
"I enjoyed seeing how the children used different methods to get an answer" (Latif, Y6PA)
"Maths Mentoring gave us experience for when we grow up" (Melanie, Y6RH)
