International Day of the Girl

7 Granton girls had a fabulous day celebrating International Day of the Girl at the South Bank Centre on Friday 11th October.  The day started with a speed mentoring event on the London Eye.  After an early meet up (still in the dark!) at Streatham Common, we were ready to pile onto the London Eye at 7.30am!  While the rest of London were waking up, we met and were mentored by some of the most inspirational and successful women in London.  We of course stopped for a fantastic view of London at the top!  After that, we returned to the South Bank Centre for a day of workshops, activities and plays.  We shared self-esteem tips, watched the play 'Body Gossip' and learnt about how girls around the world may not all be as fortunate as we are.  We had a brilliant day and have all come back full of ideas for planning and holding our own WOW festival to celebrate Women of the World Day in March.  Watch this space!
