Goldsmith's Hall

On Tuesday 25th June five Y6 children were invited to Goldsmith's Hall near St. Paul's Cathedral. Goldsmith's support our Reading Cafe as well as other schools across London.

The venue was magnificent, with amazing chandeliers and wood panelling, so we felt very special.

We learnt how precious metals are labelled with a hallmark, how hallmarks are made and all about how children as young as 10 used to become apprentice Goldsmiths.  While we were there we saw some original 2012 Olympic medals and an Olympic torch, and had our photos taken with them.

We were treated to a fabulour 2 course dinner and given some lovely souvenirs to remember the day by.

Altogether it was an amazing experience.
