Black History Month Assembly

Our focus for BHM last year was the life Nelson Mandela. The children, even some Nursery children, enjoyed finding out about his life. When his death was so widely reported the children had some idea of his significance.

This year the children have been thinking about their heritage and the journeys their family might have made.  Each class shared their learning in a special assembly.

As it is the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1 (World War One) we are thinking about how people's lives were affected.

If parents or carers have any pictures or information about their families who were involved we would love to hear about it and display any pictures. Thousands of people from the 'Commomwealth' were involved but not everyone is aware of it.
